"I first became Interested in the history of portraiture back in middle school. I was very interested in painting and loved John Singer Sargent and Albrecht Dürer. As I became a little older, André Adolphe Eugène Disdéri and his invention of the carte de visite really interested me. I love making anything by hand, especially photographs in the darkroom and books." (Taken from an interview for the Stateside Project)
